After nearly a decade away due to overhaul, resident small prairie No 5541 returned to service on the Dean Forest Railway. To celebrate the line put on a small gala event featuring three residents running an intensive timetable including passenger and goods trains.
The day didn't start well, with a problem with points at Lydney Junction, the first departure from Norchard was held up by 25 minutes, which had increased to 35 minutes by the time the train started to head for Parkend. But thanks to some clever working and shuffling of trains, the timetable was back on track by lunchtime, and all ran near enough to time until the end of the day.
The full loco line up was:-
|GWR 4575 Class No 5541
|Hunslet 0-6-0ST No 3806 'Wilbert'
|BR Class 14 No D9555
