Some Kimberley residents in the Northern Cape have been left stranded following severe water shortages.
Many waited for hours on the streets with empty buckets hoping for water tankers to deliver water.
This is as the Sol Plaatje Municipality has embarked on a five-day water supply interruption to repair old and worn-out water infrastructure.
The municipality had promised to provide water storage tanks and make available water tankers for the duration of the water interruptions - while work to repair major leaks is underway.
