Every year GIS celebrates Diwali in honour of the Hindu students that attend the school. The event is usually one of the highlights of the GIS calendar, with authentic Indian food, music, and performances by the students, and this year was no exception. There was even a performance by five very brave parents.
Diwali, known as the Hindu festival of lights, symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance, and is one of the most important festivals in Hinduism.
This year's festivities were organised and coodinated by Avishi, Marsha and Tanya, our IB1 students, who must be congratulated for putting together such a fine show.
Doubt is like darkness and trust is like a light. There is no way one can destroy light by throwing darkness into it. So, let’s come together and enjoy the festival of lights.
