We absolutely love this feeding/resting/weighing/encounter/enrichment station, built during a fantastic half-day team build at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in the beautiful new Amazonas enclosure.
The platform features a cut-out area in the middle, where different inserts can be placed. Each of these inserts is designed for different behaviors, and most of them can have a set of scales placed underneath in order to get accurate weights of the primates.
On the day of the build we tested out two of the inserts. The broom head feeder allowed bugs to be placed inside, and the primates had to use their natural foraging behavior to extract the bugs. The gum feeder insert features several logs with holes in, that can then have gum put inside.
In addition to these, there were three other feeders built, including a firehose hammock, a dig box, and a stationing insert. It's simply a case of lifting one out, and putting another in. and it's all at a height where encounters can happen and the public can see what's going on.

We designed the half-day team build with the client's very specific goal in mind, to get everyone working towards a combined goal. So the team split themselves into four groups, with each group taking a different component, but all having to communicate to make sure everything fitted and worked together.

The team did an amazing job, and we received some fantastic reviews from the event, including this; "I thoroughly enjoyed our team event with Team Building with Bite. They were extremely knowledgeable and encouraging during our build. It's a fabulous way of giving back to the animals and I think our whole company has benefitted from it. It was also amazing to see our finished projects in the monkey enclosure and how well the monkeys seemed to enjoy having something new to play on.
