It's all about the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C -- are you ready for the details?! Let me answer that for you -- yes, you are. Alright, this morning marked the much anticipated Apple media event... and I now know what I'll be pre-ordering on September 13 -- the iphone 5s. Keep watching to the end of this segment because I'm also going to talk about the cool new iPhone 5C!! But first, the 5S comes in 3 colors, silver, gold and slate AKA space grey. Per Apple, this is the most forward-thinking phone the company has ever created. One huge, new technology is Touch ID. It's all about keeping maximum security with your phone and essentially the home button includes a detection ring around it that turns on a sensor so your identity via fingerprint can be authenticated. The sensor is high tech, but what you really want to know is that you can simply touch the home button to unlock your phone, so you don't have to use a passcode -- something that Apple says only about half of smartphone users currently use (guilty as charged) and this feature will allow you to make iTunes and App Store purchases with one touch to the scratch resistant home button. Also, the fingerprints are encrypted and will never be used for non-Apple apps or even uploaded to servers or backed up to iCloud -- plus each iPhone can handle multiple fingerprints. Moving on to the things that your average consumer might want to know -- the price. With signing a 2-year contract, the 5S 16GB 199, 32GB for 299 and the 64-gig will cost 399. Again, September 13 is the preorder date and the phone will be available at stores on September 20 -- in the US, Australia, China, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and the UK... available in 100 countries via 270-carriers by end of year. You'll be stoked to hear about the new camera on the 5S included a double-LED flash with a 15-percent larger sensor area, bigger pixels, auto white balance and when a user takes a photo, the camera will actually take multiple pictures and choose the best, although you can save more than one photo from the "burst". Or if you hold down the shutter, the camera will continue to take pics until you stop. There's a new true tone flash which means there are 2 LEDs -- one is cool and white while the other is warm and amber and the app will combine the lights to get the right color balance. This iPhone will be slow-motion supported, exposure adjusts automatically and you'll get a 28 megapixel panoramic shot. Battery life is better this round! 10 hours of 3G talk time, 8 hours of 3G browsing, 40 hours of music and 250 hours of standby -- were all quoted by Apple. CPU and graphics are twice as fast -- in fact CPU is 40x faster than the original iPhone. Another option for purchase this year is another new iPhone -- the 5C. This is more fun and colorful, coming in green, yellow, blue, white and a red/pink. It makes owning a new iPhone more affordable than ever. With a 2-year contract, you can grab the 5C 16-gig for 99-dollars or the 32-GB model for 199-dollars. Some features presented at the event include that it's made from hard-coated polycarbonate with steel-reinforced inside, there's a 4-inch retina, widescreen video, more LTE bands, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band WiFi, front-facing Facetime and a slightly larger battery capacity. There are fun colored, cut-out designed and environmentally friendly cases made out of silicon rubber available for 29-dollars. Regardless of which iPhone you're interested in getting, you'll be able to download the new iOS as soon as September 17. In fact, this new iOS7 is apparently the biggest change to iOS since the original iPhone. I love the fact that with this update, the camera app will automatically organize photos by time and location AND we get built-in filters! Some other changes include a new control center and notification center, updated system alert sounds, a focus on iWork for productivity as well as improvements to Safari and a new iTunes Radio. Alright, so with the news about the 5S, 5C and iOS7, what are you most excited about? Get in on the discussion by posting a comment below... and congrats to Apple who announced that it is on track to sell it's 700th millionth iOS device next month. Impressive. Thanks so much for tuning into ClevverTV. I'm Dana Ward and I'll see you next time, bye!
