An official announcement is expected of Captain Amarinder Singh quitting the Congress party. Report says that Captain talked to the media house and said that "I will quit Congress but won't join BJP." It is likely that Captain will start his own party rather than joining an existing one. Captain Amarinder Singh had resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab on 18 September giving "felt humiliated in the party" as a reason for leaving. Captain went to Delhi on Wednesday and claimed was on a "personal visit" but he met Home Minister Amit Shah and Ajit Doval during his visit.
