在2021年10月，他被选为比利时F-16战斗机2022-2024赛季的新飞行表演飞行员。

Belgian F-16 Dream Viper: Exquisite Flight Challenging Gravity
While the F-16 is officially nicknamed the 'Fighting Falcon,' pilots affectionately refer to it as the 'Viper' due to its exceptional agility.
The flight demonstration of the Belgian Air Force's F-16 Dream Viper is considered a captivating and unforgettable aerial spectacle. This performance showcases the exceptional maneuverability and flying capabilities of the F-16 fighter jet, along with the pilot's extraordinary skills showcased in the air.
The demonstration features breathtaking maneuvers, sharp turns, steep climbs and descents, and graceful rolls that transport the audience into an exhilarating world of flight. Through high-speed flying, rapid climbs, and swift descents, the Dream Viper display highlights the F-16's extreme maneuvering capabilities, allowing spectators to feel the pilot's skill and courage.
Furthermore, the performance underscores the professional expertise and excellent training of the Belgian Air Force, as well as the pilot's remarkable adaptability in high-speed, high-G-force environments. The entire display showcases the close coordination between the pilot and the aircraft, delivering a visual and emotional spectacle to the audience.
Senior Colonel Steven De Vries, better known as 'Vrieske,' from the Belgian Air Force, is the first pilot outside the United States to accumulate over 5,000 flight hours on the mighty F-16 Viper. Vrieske embarked on his F-16 career at the age of 21.
In October 2021, he was selected as the new display pilot for the Belgian F-16 for the seasons 2022-2024.
During his debut performance with the Dream Viper, he was awarded the Bill Hartree Trophy at Cosford for the most entertaining flying display. Additionally, the F-16 Dream Viper won the prize for the best livery at Fairford.
