Cordyline Australis has become one the most popular garden plants here in the UK, it is often described as a Palm tree (although that is not 'botanically true) and certainly adds an exotic and architectural look to a garden.
There is a common fungal disease (possibly rust) of the leaves which causes yellow spots over the lower leaves, newer leaves seems less affected.
Typically these sorts of fungal diseases are more common in or just after wet weather - and as we get quite a bit of wet weather here in Wales / UK the problem has become quite common.
The Cordyline trees don't seem to suffer too much and keep on growing well, but the yellow spotted leaves don't look good so Roger shows how he trims them off and provides some of tips / ideas on how to reduce the risk of infection without using fingicides.
