During difficult times, God’s people can be vulnerable to temptation and doubt. This is certainly the case for Christian in John Bunyan’s famous book Pilgrim’s Progress. Once he enters the Valley of the Shadow of Death, Christian encounters all sorts of pits, snares, and traps. But because he knew that God had faithfully delivered other believers from this treacherous valley, Christian could trust the Lord would not desert him either.
