After two years of learning losses due to the COVID-19 outbreak, UNICEF with funding from Irish Aid rolled out an abridged curriculum supported by the government as one of the initiatives to assist with education recovery. The initiative has registered great successes in the northeastern region of Karamoja.
A total of 1,551 teachers were trained to handle an abridged curriculum and have in turn returned to their schools and mentored their colleagues in using the new document. The abridged curriculum realized accelerated learning and commendation from both the teachers and the learners.
