Amanda and I make DIY salt dough Christmas ornaments for vlogmas.

Salt dough ornaments are a great family craft but you can also have a blast with your friends making naughty (or nice) dough ornaments.

The salt dough recipe is as follows:

4c Flour (we used self-rising but you shouldn't)
1c Salt
1 1/2c warm water

Mix the dry ingredients and then slowly mix in water. Knead the salt dough by hand and then roll out until it's somewhere between 1/4 and 1/8 inch thick. Use a cookie cutter or butter knife to make Christmas ornament shapes in your salt dough. I did a camera ornament, a guitar Christmas ornament, and a youtube play button as well as candy canes, stars, and a Christmas tree. We also did some "grown up" ornaments just for fun too.

Bake your dough Christmas ornaments for 1-3 hours... just make sure they are dried out and hard... ours only took about an hour.

Pro tip... if you use self-rising flour the ornaments get puffy... it's up to you... we just used what we had for our dough ornaments.
