(25 Dec 2013) Iraqi Christians prayed for peace and security as they congregated for mass on Christmas Day in Baghdad's Karrada neighbourhood.
At Saint Joseph Chaldean Church Father Saad Seroub called for "peace and security to all Iraqi people."
"We wish this because we are at the end of this year and at beginning of the new year," he said.
One parishioner said she hoped that "security and peace prevail".
The prayers came as Iraqi officials said at least 15 people were killed when a car bomb exploded near a church in the southern Baghdad neighbourhood of Dora.
30 people were wounded in the attack, according to police.
Iraq's dwindling Christian community, which is estimated to number about 400-thousand to 600-thousand people, has often come under attack by al-Qaida and other
insurgents.
