The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in isolated places across Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet, and 18 other districts on Thursday due to a well-marked low-pressure system moving towards the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coast.
