The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC), is the most influential institution in the Iranian political system. The IRGC is intended to complement the more traditional role of the regular Iranian military. This force is tasked with preserving the Islamic Republic of Iran and the ideals of the 1979 revolution and is revolutionary Iran’s primary instrument for exporting the ideology of the Islamic Revolution worldwide.
