Saleh Barakat, Founder and Director of Agial Art Gallery, discusses the relationship between the artist, the gallery and the art market; between an ideal system and the realities of the Arab world, especially in light of the increase of galleries and local and international museums established in the Arab countries. Barakat also speaks about the return of modern Arab art to the global art market.

This talk was organized in the framework of the Ras Masqa Artists Residency, organized by APEAL with the contribution of Temporary Art Platform that took place from March 18 to April 18, 2016, in the village of Ras Masqa and focused on the theme of "art education".
The public program fed the residency with discursive input based and developed according to the proposed projects by the participants. The program was shaped to fulfill the needs of both the artists in residence and the university students, creating bridges between the informal education formats of artistic practice / research and the academic program of the Lebanese University.
