The COVID-19 pandemic has many of us stuck at home. The times are hard and there's a lot of stress piling up, especially when there's no end date to any of this. So, when the going gets tough and you feel like you can't spend another day at home, just remember there's lots of amazing places, people and things out there and they all will be waiting for you.
Stubai Valley in Tyrol (Austria) is one those special places. The land with gorgeous lakes and beautiful mountains. Stubai Glacier Ski Resort is the largest glacier skiing area of Austria with altitudes ranging from 1710m to 3210m asl. 64km of slopes opened from October to June generate a revenue of $40 million every season. The snow and the glaciers are Austria's gold. As tourism is a huge source of income here and economic security is what seems to count. Great Efforts are made to preserve the snow and maintain the ski resort slopes so that the tourism industry could run for a bit longer. But the main issue is not being addressed and the glaciers are melting at a record rate. "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children" -- Ralph Waldo Emerson.
