Gini Wijnaldum admits he is not "completely happy" with his situation at Paris Saint-Germain just a few months after walking away from Liverpool.

The Dutch midfielder signed for PSG on a free transfer in the summer after his five-year deal at Anfield ran its course.

It was an emotional exit for Wijnaldum at the time with both Jurgen Klopp and the Netherlands international himself indicating a desire to remain on Merseyside before joining the Ligue 1 giants as a free agent.

Wijnaldum has played 11 times for Mauricio Pochettino this term but has registered just 502 minutes at the Parc-des-Princes with the PSG coach preferring the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Ander Herrera and Marco Verratti.

Speaking to NOS in his homeland during the international break, Wijnaldum admits it's been far from perfect since his departure from Liverpool.

"I can't say I'm completely happy," Wijnaldum said. "Because the situation is not what I wanted.

"But that's football and I'll have to learn to deal with that. I'm a fighter. I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around."

"I think [not playing], it's a primary concern for every player," Wijnaldum added.

"It's also worrying if you don't play. But it's just the beginning of the season. A lot can still happen and I stay positive."

The former Reds star was given less than 15 minutes in the recent 2-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League and was a late substitute once more in their surprise defeat to Rennes before the international break.

Despite featuring 51 times for Klopp 's side last term, the Reds opted against recruiting a Wijnaldum replacement in the transfer market.
