Today on our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio Roof Bike Rack, part number TR02. We already have it installed on our vehicle so you can see it here. One of the best features about this bike rack is the fact that there's going to be no frame contact at all to hold the bike to the rack. Instead it holds it by the fork mount here and the wheel strap at the rear. With this installed, I'd just like to show you, we're not going to have any interference at all between our hatch and our bike rack once it's installed. I would also like to point out at the rear we do have an integrated cable lock for additional security.
Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside and show off some more features. We'll start with the rear wheel strap. You just push the top of the tab here, which will release it. When we release the front skewer mount here, you want to be sure that you're holding onto the bike itself so it doesn't fall into the vehicle or onto you. Take the handle here. Pull out towards you, and we're able to grab our bike. This rear wheel strap is adjustable along the length of the bike rack and this will accommodate bikes of different sizes.
How it clamps on, we have this bracket here with the two turn knobs to attach it to our rear crossbar. Up at the front we have two U-bolts with nuts on the top to attach it to our front crossbar. There you have it for the Kuat Trio Roof Bike Race, part number TR02 on our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Here it is on our test course. We'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action, which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next we're at the alternating speed bumps, which we'll see the twisting action.
This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole, or driving over uneven pavement. Finally, we have the full speed bumps where we'll see the up and down action which is just like driving out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway.
