Germany's oldest city has been around for over 4,000 years and due to its rich heritage of Roman sites it is sometimes referred to as the Rome of the north. From the grandiose city gate Porta Nigra to the Roman baths and amphitheatre it's a struggle to fit everything into a day, especially if you want to spend some time hanging out in the market square (which by the way looks exactly like I've always thought German market places would look) and maybe even hike across the Moselle River and up to St Mary's Column for some incredible views back across the city.
If you're thinking of visiting trier and want some ideas of what to do and how to do them then take a look at this video and feel free to ask any questions in the comments.
