The "Six Kalma" refers to a set of six Islamic declarations that are recited by Muslims as a means of expressing their faith and belief in the core principles of Islam. These Kalmas are an essential part of Islamic teaching and are often memorized and recited by Muslims, including children, to reinforce their faith and understanding of the religion.
Here is a brief description of each of the six Kalmas:
The First Kalma (Kalma Tayyab):
Arabic Text:
Translation: There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
The Second Kalma (Kalma Shahadat):
Arabic Text:
Translation: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without any partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
The Third Kalma (Kalma Tamjeed):
Arabic Text:
Translation: Glory is to Allah, and praise is to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the greatest.
The Fourth Kalma (Kalma Tauheed):
Arabic Text:
Translation: There is no god but Allah alone, without any partners. He has the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things competent.
The Fifth Kalma (Kalma Astaghfar):
Arabic Text:
Translation: I ask forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed, and I seek refuge in Him from being resurrected on the Day of Judgment.
The Sixth Kalma (Kalma Radde Kufr):
Arabic Text:
Translation: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I ask Your forgiveness for what I do not know.
These Kalmas are important in Islam as they emphasize the oneness of God (Allah), the prophethood of Muhammad, and the concept of seeking forgiveness and repentance. They serve as a means to strengthen one's faith, seek forgiveness for sins, and reaffirm the fundamental beliefs of Islam. They are often taught to children as part of their religious education.
