Gupis Sumpis Valley is located about 112 kilometers to the west of Gilgit on the bank of River Gilgit, District Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The Gupis is 2176 meters above sea level. This fort was once used by the military for defence purposes. Later the king (Raja) of the time lived in this fort for several years.
Gupis-Yasin District is home to Khalti Lake. The lake is located near the village of Khalti in a bend of the Ghizer River. The lake is surrounded by the Hindukush range of mountains, which adds to the beauty of the scene. The area is known for its tranquility and quiet. The sound of birds can be clearly heard.
Manthokha Waterfall is a waterfall located in the Kharmang Valley, in Skardu, in Gilgit-Baltistan, in the extreme northern region of Pakistan. The Chaqchan Mosque is a mosque in the city of Khaplu, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. Dating from 1370, the mosque is one of the oldest in the region, and dates from the time when the area's populace converted en masse from Buddhism to Islam.The mosque shares similar architecture as those built in the Kashmir Valley.It is a perfect blend of Tibetan, Mughal and Persian style of architecture.
Khaplu, (خپلو) also known as “Shyok Valley” and “Little Tibet” is the administrative capital of Ghanche district. The valley is at a distance of 112 km towards the east from Skardu. The valley sprawls along the River Shyok, a tributary of River Indus, next to the ancient trade route to Ladakh.
