I just delivered an AI Chatbot SaaS company to a client of mine. My client paid me $10,000 for the development and $498 per month for hosting and support. The end product contains;
1. An AI chatbot frontend
2. SSO using OIDC allowing users to register and login using their Google accounts
3. Subscription payments, allowing clients to pay for subscriptions automatically, with some 3 initial free questions before the system will ask the user to pay to continue
4. Charts for financial information
5. PDF report downloads
The system is a financial AI assistant type of system, allowing its users to use AI to query Swedish companies for their KPI information and details, such as directors, financial data, etc. The data is based upon publicly available information, and is using OpenAI and gpt-4o as its LLM.
The system is based upon CSV files the client had access to through an SFTP site, where updates are download once per day and imported into a PostgreSQL database, with some roughly 5 to 10 million records.
If I had use "software development best practices" to deliver this project, I would have had to charge the client probably $100,000 for a simple MVP. I brought the system into production for $10,000.
Software Development Best Practices *IS A SCAM*!
