Home-baked banana bread is a classic; and it's an easy thing to make - but / adding a swirl of nutella gives it a fantastic twist.
I'm Zoe Francois and I'm gonna show you how to make delicious banana bread in a few simple steps! If you want the full recipe for free, just click the i in the top right hand corner of your screen.
Here's what you'll need...
When it comes to the bananas - how ripe you ask? Ideally - about this ripe - a few brown speckles here and there...
Use butter or spray to grease a standard loaf pan and then line it with parchment paper and grease that too!
Mash the bananas with a potato masher. I don't mash it too much as I prefer my banana bread to have a bit of texture, so the flavor really comes through.
In a small bowl, throw in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Whisk, and set it aside.
Next, combine the sugar, melted butter, milk, eggs and vanilla.
Add the flour to the liquid ingredients
and stir just until it's smooth.
Now gradually add those mashed bananas and mix until everything is combined.
Heat the nutella in a microwave for a few seconds, just until it is liquidy.
Drizzle about 2/3 of the nutella into the batter and gently fold it in, being careful not to stir too much, you want to see the distinct lines of nutella.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Drizzle the remaining nutella over the top of the loaf and gently swirl into the surface.
And then bake in a preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
(I often bake two at a time, so we can freeze one for another day and eat the other while it is still warm.) That nutella/banana combination is totally irrestistible so the more you make, the better! And if you crave extra nutella - just smear some more on top!
