Aprilia has such a rich racing history and pedigree and their medium sized parallel twin has shown that the team from Noale have not lost their touch. Straight out of the box, in its first year the awesome RS660 went on to win the Twins Cup in the USA, winning 10 out of the 13 races held, 16 more podiums, 9 second place finishes, 7 third place finishes as well as 6 pole positions. 5 Different riders won on the RS660, showing its versatility not only on different tracks, but also in the hands of different riders with different riding styles.
To celebrate this first milestone in the history of the RS660, Aprilia have launched a Limited Edition Stars and Stripes. The graphics clearly inspired by the American flag on a pearl white paint job, higher screen, rear seat cowl, electronically adjustable reverse shift gearbox and a badge on the tank indicating the limited number bike of the limited 1500 units being built hereof.
I had the opportunity to film the uncrating of the first one into South Africa, speak about the race successes achieved, review it and ride her.
