Danville Indiana | A Cool Small Town West of Indianapolis Indiana... I don't mean that it's incredibly far west of Indianapolis, Indiana. However, you'll have to travel west on US 36 west of Indianapolis and through Avon, Indiana to find it. It's a small town but not the smallest you'll find with right at 10,000 people. It's that size that's just big enough to have everything you need but small enough to still qualify as "small town". Danville, Indiana is an interesting place with plenty of history and quiet living for your day to day. If you're looking for a town not far from Indianapolis that can give you a little more for your money... and I mean a little more house AND space... then Danville, Indiana is something you should keep on your radar.
