Would You Cruise the Amazon River on a Cargo Ship?
I did—and it was the adventure of a lifetime.
Starting in Tabatinga, Brazil, I boarded the Esmeralda, a cargo ship making its way to Manaus, deep in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest.
For just $10 a day, this 4-day, 850-mile journey offered a hammock to sleep in, three meals daily, and front-row views of the breathtaking Amazon.
Along the way, I passed tiny Indigenous villages, listened to Macaws calling from the treetops, and marveled at night skies bursting with stars and the Milky Way.
This was more than a trip—it was a true Amazonian adventure.
Here is a link to a blog post that helped make my Amazon River Cruise possible. Great information and extremely accurate.
