Multiday biketour around Bosna i Hercegovina by two guys (Toni Ferić, Joško Radić).

This is day 5/6.
Fojnica - Dusina - Ostrožac - Jablanica - Prozor - Šćit
Unexpected unpaved road between Dusina and Parsovići. It should not be considered a road at all. It is a forrest path. In the higher altitudes, this path is not drivable by normal street cars, only with 4WD’s. This road is marked as national road (“red” road), which may be heavily misleading.
We asked locals about this road and they did not really know about the descent on the other side. It seems that locals never cross the mountain.
When cycling through the silent forrest, we were trying to go slowly and make some noise, in order to scare off potential bears. We did not face any at this place.
After crossing the Neretva lake, we had to ride onto a road with very heavy traffic towards Jablanica. There are a few tunnels. Very few have safe alternative. Walking around the tunnel through the forrest did not work and was way to dangerous. Finally we walked through the tunnels by pushing our bikes as pedestrians.
By trying to walk around a tunnel, I broke my bike shoes, so I had to buy regular sneakers in Jablanica.
Jablanica-Šćit was all paved.
