Timelapse driving on the newly reconstructed King Street Bypass (Highway 8) in Kitchener, Ontario. This highway is the gateway to Waterloo Region, a cluster of cities located about halfway between London and Toronto.
Construction just finished this year which had the highway widened to 8 lanes from King Street to the Conestoga Parkway interchange.
Long term plans will see a full T-interchange with Highway 401 so eastbound traffic can access the bypass (it currently uses King Street itself). The 8/401 junction is a partial-Y interchange right now meaning only westbound traffic can use it.
