On June 19th, Melissa Hemzacek from the Illinois Attorney General's Office presented Community Violence Prevention Program Parent Program participants an in-depth look into internet safety.
The presentation increased the understanding and knowledge of internet safety for parents providing them with practical tips to protect youth online. This interactive presentation provided foundational information about current trends in internet use and social media; explored the connection between social media and violence that are taking place in CVPP communities; offered tips on setting parental controls to keep youth safe; and provided action steps parents can take in their own families and communities to ensure safe use of the internet.
