Here's an immaculate boxed 1990 CB27/81 UK FM Port-A-Pak for service. Despite quite a list of snags, it was all very routine. Radio now doing 4W on 12.0V as it should do. Full squelch is a little harsh at 220uV. We like them to be 100uV (S9) at full. At the other end, the squelch sensitivity is there & so is the receiver sensitivity which I was in no way able to improve other than slight improvement to the detector/discriminator coil. Perhaps the customer doesn't realise only 0,25W of audio goes into the speaker/mike whereas a whopping 4W (according to the instruction book) is available at the extension speaker socket. These radios do no have an internal speaker.
