Scooters have always been quite popular in India - right from the Bajaj Chetak to the Honda Activa. While the scooter market did go through a brief slump in the 90s, it has come back up. So much so that 1 in every 3 two-wheelers sold in India is a scooter. Scooters like the Hero Pleasure, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access, and Honda Grazia offer everything for a regular scooter buyer, while the Piaggio Vespa, Aprilia SR 125/160, and TVS Ntorq fit in the premium segment. There is also an increasing demand for maxi-styled scooters like the Aprilia SXR 125/160, Suzuki Burgman Street, and the new Yamaha Aerox 155. So what has made the scooters so popular in India? Shumi has the answer.
