What is public interest law? Public Interest law refers to legal action taken to help underserved or marginalized communities. Types of public interest law jobs range from working with homeless individuals to working with the immigrant community.
In this episode, Blueprint CEO Matt Riley speaks with Leah Cohen-Mays, an attorney at the Children’s Law Center and Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School. Cohen-Mays is also the owner of a production company. Most recently, she wrote, directed, and produced an award-winning short film, "The Boots." Cohen-Mays discusses her journey to law school as a non-traditional student making a career change, as well as how to balance a successful law career with her other passions.
