On Monday 6th June, 2022 the BCRC-Caribbean hosted a side event at the BRS COPs entitled “Stopping the POPs in the Caribbean”. The Centre’s delegates, regional counterparts as well as waste and chemicals management experts presented past and ongoing initiatives geared toward limiting and eliminating POPs in the region.

In addition to the overview of BCRC Caribbean ongoing projects and the updates of participating countries’ National Implementation Plan (NIP) under the Stockholm Convention, the topics included:
• Pesticides management in the Caribbean
• PFAS management in the Caribbean
• PCBs management in the Caribbean
• BFRs management in the Caribbean
• Public Awareness, Training and Education Initiatives on POPs in the Caribbean
