SOLVANG
This town was founded in 1911 by Danish-American educators on 9,000 acres purchased for $75,000.
The feature film "Sideways" was filmed in Solvang and highlighted the regions' celebrated world-class wines.
Over 1 million visitors come to solving each year and it was Named by Sunset magazine as one of the "10 Most Beautiful Small Towns in the Western United States,"
Solvang’s Hans Christian Andersen Museum is the only one in the US celebrating the Danish author of such classics as "The Little Mermaid,""The Snow Queen,and "The Ugly Duckling,"

Solvang Known as the “Danish Capital of America,” Solvang is home to lots of Danish architecture. Although homes and other structures in the town were originally built in the local style, eventually the town transitioned to its European look.
Mission Drive, also known as Highway 246, isn’t the main street of Solvang.

Paula’s Pancake House had a great yelp reviews for their American breakfasts, Belgian waffles and, of course, Danish pancakes.

Copenhagen Sausage Garden is outdoor beer garden located in the heart of Solvang and offers the famous danish Rød Pølse , along with other 11 family-made sausages from around the world.
They even offer 2 Vegan sausage options.
you can choose what you want from the menu, order at the window, and sit in the garden enjoying wine or beer while waiting for your order. The food was excellent, I say this without exaggeration.

STOP BY A BAKERY (OR THREE!)
it’s next to impossible to resist the lure of the sweet treats on display.
You’ll find long lines at the bakeries, although the lines usually move quickly.
Visit early in the day for the best selections and relatively short lines. Some serve coffee as well. So Take your goodies outside to enjoy!

Mission Drive is the main street that runs through the village. And at the end of this street you will find famous Old Danish Fudge Kitchen has been in business since 1961.
Here will find the best handmade fudge, along with a variety of other treats. Even after delicious sausage lunch i had , it was impossible to resist the abundance of goodies in this cute store.

Solvang Park is a small park right in the heart of the village, , with picnic tables and restrooms. It’s a great place to relax or spend the time with your kids or pets.
