U.S. Company: “We want to sponsor this foreign national for a green card.”
U.S. Dept. of Labor: “Well, you must undergo the PERM Labor Certification Process.”
The PERM Labor certification process is a part of the PERM Green Card process.
This proves to the U.S. DOL that there is a need for this person to be in the U.S. through the PERM Green Card Process.This entails the company to provide a detailed job description to the DOL.
The DOL then determines the salary and the company then goes to a recruitment campaign to prove that no American worker can be hired for the position they wish to offer to the foreign national.
The PERM certification process will now proceed and the PERM Green Card will now be issued.
