Solo Camping on the Snowy River in this Unforgettable location will be one solo trip i will always remember.
This solo camping location is as good as it gets. Stunning views over the Snowy River.
On the drive into the Snow River National Park, i stopped at Little River Falls. It's only a short walk into the waterfalls, and well worth going in for a look.
Leaving the Little River Waterfalls, i continue into the Snowy River National Park to find a camping spot on the Snowy River.
I have to say, where i have set up my solo river camping spot over looking the mighty Snowy River is simply one of the best river camping locations i have ever found.
It was such a relaxing camping spot with the sounds of the bush and the Snowy River just below me to pass my time.
I even tried my luck fishing in the Snowy River. No luck this time.
The Snowy River is such an iconic mountain river system that flows through two States in Australia. Eventually running out into Bass Strait on the coast near Orbost.
Packing up camp from this beautiful location was hard to do. But, i now had a bucket list location to visit and explore the history that surrounds McKillops Bridge.
I have been wanting to visit McKillops bridge for many years.
Driving across the bridge for the first time as the Snowy River flows underneath, was an amazing moment.
The history that is attached to McKillops bridge is very interesting. The original bridge was swept away from a massive flood in January of 1934. The second bridge was built, which is what you can see today.
Solo river camping beside the Snowy River and seeing McKillops Bridge, will have lasting memory's for a long time.
I will be back for sure.
