Bike the Bay Bridge (June 2021)
For this video, I'm sharing my bike ride on Bay Bridge starting from the
Judge John Sutter Regional Shoreline parking lot at Burma Road, Oakland. It has several parking spaces and clean restrooms.
Another optional starting point would be the Bay Bridge Bike Trail traihead at Emeryville across Ikea.
On the return leg, I took a quick detour to the Observation Pier before heading back to the parking lot.
This was an easy bike ride on such iconic bridge with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay. From the Oakland parking lot to Yerba Buena Island was a climb but not that hard.
At the Yerba Buena Vista Point, the was a bike path to Treasure Island but was closed. The sign says it's open on weekends and holiday only. Well, this bike ride was on a non-holiday/weekday. So, I'll plan to come back
on a weekend or holiday to check this out.
The return leg was all downhill, so, watch your speed.
If you're into pier fishing, you may want to check out the Observation Pier.
Note that there's no shade for the entire bike trail, and weather can change quickly; so if you want to do this, be prepared, and check the San Francisco Bay weather ahead.
