To mark this year’s International Women in Engineering Day the UK Civil Aviation Authority had a chat with Lucy Wootton, Chief Inspector of the Light Aircraft Association (LAA). As the youngest and first female to be appointed as Chief Inspector at the LAA it was great to learn more about Lucy’s passion for aviation.
How her first gliding experience flight at 16 years of age, triggered a lasting love of flight which has seen her go on to become one of the youngest female British Gliding Association Inspectors and Chief Flying Instructor at her local gliding club.
Learn more about how Lucy’s career has developed to encompass gliding, powered flying and aeronautical engineering.
