Finally got my hands on an Olympus ME-51S external mic, and it definitely works better than the Rode mic I was using before. Interesting how this Olympus mic has a L and R directional microphones, too. I still have to play around with wind noise reduction, as I have a “dead cat” cover on the mic but it doesn’t seem to fully seal at the base of the mic, so some wind still gets in. Overall, super happy with the new mic and once I get the wind noise situated, should be all good to go!
