In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. Leonardo de Vinci was 40 years old when this happened. This must have been like the moon landing back in 1492 to discover a new land on earth. We went to the actual spot where these three ships disembarked on their discovery mission from the town of Palos de la Frontera where we also ate dinner. The ships are just replicas but very good ones. The is the 525th anniversary of their mission. The museum is very interesting with some of Christopher's diary to read. He describes the people he met on the islands of the Bahamas.
