Follow along as we set off on an epic 10-day adventure through a few countries that have been on our bucket list for years. Beautiful footage from Lucerne, Lauterbrunnen, and the lakes and waterfalls of Switzerland, Reykjavic and Thingvellir National Park in Iceland, the Alsace region of France, and of course, Paris. From medieval villages to world-class cities, from lush valleys to raw and rugged landscapes, we experience it all.

Using the Icelandair Stopover option, we gave ourselves a day to explore Reykjavic and Thingvellir National Park (it was more of a preview for a future trip!).

Next, we flew into Zurich and spent a few days in Lucerne, where we enjoyed the city, explored the Pilatus Seilpark, biked through the Lauterbrunnen Valley, and took a road trip through Interlaken and around Lake Thun.

From Switzerland, we drove to the Alsace region of France, where we spent a day exploring the city of Colmar and the surrounding villages and countryside. Finally, it was on to Paris, where we spent a few days browsing museums, cruising the river, shopping, sightseeing, and going full tourist by renting Segways. I even tried to assemble coherent sentences from my 4 years of high school French (which I managed to do on several occasions!)

While we were prepared to spend a good chunk of change, nothing can really prepare you for the reality of how much things cost in these countries. What's funny is that in Paris, an extremely expensive place to visit, prices actually seemed reasonable after coming from Iceland and Switzerland. Even so, it's still possible to maintain a reasonable budget. We managed to find some excellent AirBNB's in Lucerne and Paris that were a far better value for us than hotels!

It was a hectic pace, and at times it seemed like we bit off more than we could chew (and we probably did), but it was a great way to experience many of the cities and destinations that have been in our dreams for years! Our kids were very well behaved (for the most part) which made this vacation
