A major crash on Atlantic Avenue in Raleigh closed the road at Six Forks Road. One person died and two others were injured Tuesday morning in a major crash on Atlantic Avenue in Raleigh.
One person died at the scene, and a child and man were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The three-car collision occurred before 4:30 a.m.
Atlantic Avenue was closed for hours between Six Forks Road and Highwoods Boulevard due to the ongoing investigation.
Sky 5 flew over the scene at 8:15 a.m. The road was still closed, and three cars -- a red sedan, a black SUV and a sports car -- were badly damaged.
There was a lot of debris in the road.
