These States Extended & Raised SNAP - EBT - Food Stamps 2022/2023
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), was once known as Food Stamps. During the pandemic, an emergency benefit was added to help struggling households. Read more about it here. The plan was announced in April 2021 and grants the USDA, who oversees SNAP, an additional $1 billion per month for it. Additional funding was set to end in September 2021, but has been extended several times since then. The amount of additional money you are eligible for depends on family size. The minimum amount is $95. If you are looking to apply for SNAP or determine your eligibility, you’ll need to look for your state’s program. Every state has a different application. Typically, these benefits are for people with a gross income up to 130% of the federal poverty level.
