Hey everyone!
In this vid, I'm sharing how I prepared my own gut healing bone broth. Bone broth is a great asset if you are suffering from leaky gut, candida, IBS, or any digestive disorder.
In short, bone broth is made by brewing the bones and connective tissues of either cow, chicken or fish. The broth made from this is what contains key vitamins, minerals, collagen and many more nutrients that help the body repair itself.
One major reason why it's great for candida diet is because bone broth is known for its ability to heal intestinal permeability (in other words, repair leaky gut) due its anti-inflammatory amino acid, glutamine, which plays a vital role in healing gut lining.
Ingredients:
Grass fed beef bones
1/2 white onion
5 garlic cloves
Handful of thyme
Salt, to taste
Approx 1.5-2L (adjust as needed)
Directions:
1. Place thawed out bones on parchment paper and bake on 400 degrees for approx 30 minutes.
2. Fill pot with water until it covers the bones by about an inch and add onion, garlic, thyme and salt.
3. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat (you can use this time to remove excess fat if desired) then reduce heat to low (until it's a light simmer). Cover with the lid slightly ajar and cook for anywhere between 12 to 24 hours. Check on the pot periodically to mix contents together.
4. When cooking time is up, strain the contents of the pot, and transfer broth to mason jars for storing in the fridge or freezer.
5. Drink and enjoy!
I forgot to mention in the video, but I drink the broth in the morning on an empty stomach.
