The video is for Canon R50 camera users who want to use the Godox flash system.
Without a multi-function shoe adaptor, the Canon AD-E1, a Godox flash won't be able to go off with the R50.
In this video, you'll learn how to attach the shoe adaptor to the camera together with a Godox trigger, and setting the R50 camera menu in order for the system to work.
DISCLAIMER: I do not have every single Canon EOS R camera to try the adaptor on, all that I am sure is R50 will need the AD-E1 adaptor. Canon states in their website that a EOS R camera that had the multi-function hotshoe will need the AD-E1 adaptor. So if the camera's user manual said its hotshoe was a multi-function one, and by drawing logical inference, the camera would need the AD-E1 adaptor. However, I cannot say for other cameras without actually trying it even though Canon said so, all I am sure is the R50 will need the AD-E1 to fire a Godox Flash.
1) Godox flashes are usually compatible with earlier mirrorless camera models, such as the R5, R6 (00:00)
2) For newer Canon mirrorless cameras to work with Godox, you'll need to order an accessory, the Canon AD-E1 adaptor (1:06)
3) Setting up the menu (1:39)
a) Silent shutter: OFF
b) Shutter mode: Electronic 1st Curtain
c) The Godox flash won't go off if either option is not set like the above
******Additional setting (not mentioned in the video as I've assumed that it was ON by default): Turn ON Flash Firing (Camera tab #3 ➡️ Flash Control ➡️ Flash Firing -- ON)***********
4) Theoretically, it should work on other Godox products (3:04)
5) Older models, such as the R5 and R6, are compatible with the Godox system: you just need to use a Godox trigger on the camera's hotshoe to fire a Godox flash remotely. (3:18)
6) Other stuff (3:30)
-The box of the Canon AD-E1
-Will it also support HSS?
-Comment "FLASH" if you find this video useful
NOTE: AD-E1 has always been on backorder and required 6-8 weeks' lead time, but now (Nov 2023) it should be better.
Thank you!
