The biggest single market for nuclear energy in Eastern Europe is Poland, says Mike Kirst, Vice President for Strategy and External Relations for Europe at the Westinghouse Electric Company.
As Poland currently relies on coal for 90 percent of its power supply, Kist said, the future of the country lies on “developing nuclear energy as a key energy resource in order to meet EU environmental but also energy security objectives.”
“Poland will be an important market for Westinghouse in the future,” Kirst added.
