While flashings are important, the preparation for flashings is equally important. In this case we have a modified rip sill detail courtesy of @stevenbaczekarchitect . It’s a sill pushed out through the continuous insulation. A piece of bevel siding to create the slope ( this is a repeatable detail for us in renovation or new construction). Then we rip a back dam to height. Planning for success of the building is important, the preparation is equally so.
