In this video we cover property inheritance. We discuss the ways in which you could inherit a property, what to do if you find yourself in this position and the difference between a grant of probate and letters of administration. We also discuss paying inheritance tax to HMRC and why it's important to have beneficiaries. Presented by PensionBee’s CLO and General Counsel; Matthew Cavanagh.
Within this video we mention the inheritance tax-free threshold which is currently £325,000 for tax year 2024/25. If the value of your estate is below £325,000 or you leave everything above the £325,000 threshold to a spouse, civil partner, a charity or a community amateur sports club, there is usually no inheritance tax to pay. If you have specific questions around inheritance tax you should seek independent legal advice.
