Back to Batu Pahat - Fijian's with the British & Commonwealth Forces in the Malayan Insurgency
A documentary film that explores the exploits of the 1FIR - 1st Fijian Infantry Regiment during the Malayan Emergency. Serving under the banner of the United Nations, the men fought side by side men from other countries against the communist insurgents. Approximately 1,600 Fijian troops were involved in the Malayan Emergency from 1952 to 1956. The experience was captured in this documentary.
