This song, known in English as the Money Bag Song, was sung by Thirugnana Sambandar in the Siva Temple at Thiruvavadthurai. The story goes that Sambandar needed the money so his father could do a homa. He didn't have any, so he went to this temple and sang this song. At the end of the song a Siva Gana appeared and left a bag of gold and said, "Please give this to your father," which he did.
